Super Soap!

If there are such things as super foods, there is also what I call Super Soap! I made this soap from all natural non-GMO goat’s milk and glycerin soap base. I used chlorella tablets as a colorant. And then I added frankincense, myrrh, peppermint, and eucalyptus essential oils! This smells heavenly! I don’t have anymore bars left but I just want to show pictures of it. If interested, just email me. I can make it again 🙂 I sold it for $7 per bar.

Super Soap only $7 per bar.

Pink Lemonade Soap

As I continue my growing desire to create homemade soap and use whatever ingredients available, I created something that turned out quite nice. I also just want to mention that the night before I created this next homemade soap, I left my crockpot on with melted goat’s milk in it. It turned brown the next day. I didn’t want to throw it away because I refuse to waste precious ingredients so I decided to stir it and pour it in the mold. I told myself that I was just going to use it for myself.

I thought about what would look good with light brown and fortunately I have a pink mica powder. I decided to melt glycerin soap base and mix it with pink mica powder. I also added lemon essential oils because that was the first essential oil I grabbed. Then I added more layers of goat’s milk soap and glycerin soap mixed with lemon essential oil.  To my surprise, it turned out lovely! I’m loving the pink color and the lemon scent! And that’s why I named it Pink Lemonade.

As soon as I forwarded the pictures of the finished products to my friends, I started receiving orders. It’s $7 per bar. Now, I only have one bar left to sell. I did well! I might just keep the last bar for myself and have it for display. 🙂

Yummy chocolate cake… Soap!

Happy birthday to me! I don’t really celebrate birthday because it is just another day, but today I decided to celebrate it by creating something beautiful.  It was my very first melt and pour soap loaf. I’m quite impressed with my creation as you can see below.

Isn’t it lovely? It just looks delicious. Now, I can have my cake and enjoy it too… In the shower! 🙂 This chocolate cake soap loaf is made of Non-GMO goat’s milk and clear glycerin soap base. Other ingredients are organic ground coffee, organic ground rolled oats, cocoa powder, cinnamon powder, and vanilla extract. It smells heavenly. I can truly enjoy my chocolate cake soap in the shower without the worries of disgusting chemicals that most soaps in the market contains. They may be cheap, but you get what you pay for. I believe I am worth high quality products that are safe and good for my health.

Love yourself…

Everyone knows that we ought to be good to each other. But all of us also knows that not everybody practices that. Everything that I will say on this post has already been said many many times before, but I feel the need to say it again. I feel like someone somewhere needs to hear this message again. So here it is.

Be good to everybody. That includes yourself. Forgive those who violated you, so you can also forgive yourself. Forgive them not for their sake, but for your sake. Forgive them for your own healing. It’s okay. You are okay. Everything will turn out just fine.

Nowadays, I see a lot of mean people. The younger generations are surprisingly disrespectful. I see a lot of selfishness and greed. I often ask myself how come they don’t appreciate what they have? Where did this feeling of entitlement came from? How did it started in the first place?

Every time I see someone being mean to somebody, I automatically feel bad for the aggressor, not the victim. What kind of hatred does this person have for him or her to behave that way towards the other person? I feel bad for that person. You see, being mean to somebody is a manifestation of your own inequity. It tells me that you are unhappy. It shows lack of love and peace in your life. It tells me that deep inside you, you don’t like yourself.

Someone may say I’m wrong. It’s okay. I have been wrong many times. But if someone is to really analyze their life and the reasoning behind their behavior, they will find that what I said is true. Your actions say a lot about you. And like what I have said, this have been said many times before. I am just merely repeating it.

Truth hurts. It is only when you accept it that you start to heal. When you start to heal, the pain goes away. And you will have peace within yourself. And then it’s the start of a new beginning. The beginning of a new you.

So, love yourself. Have a good intention. Having a good intention is very very healthy. It takes away stress. When you don’t have stress, your health starts to turn around. Your outlook in life changes in a positive way. You will feel better. Your life will be better.

Ask yourself on a daily basis, who can I help today? It could be anybody. It could even be yourself. And it doesn’t have to be a grandiose act. It’s actually the simplest things. Every single small act of kindness makes a huge difference and we just don’t realize that. Just imagine what will happen when you accumulate a lot of small simple good deeds. It’s going to be great.

If you are feeling down because life sometimes can be challenging sometimes, it’s okay. If you need to cry, cry it out loud. Don’t stop it. Let the tears flow freely. I strongly believe that when you cry, you are releasing the emotional toxins in your body. So, go ahead and free yourself of those emotional toxins. It’s going to be okay. But here’s the key, do not dwell on it. Once you release it, that’s it. Don’t ever dwell on that emotion. Release it all so you can move on. Forgive and continue to love no matter what.

Love yourself. If you do, it will show. Then you will attract love.

Be kind and giving. Giving is so much more rewarding than receiving. When you give without the intention of receiving anything in return, that is when it feels good. You will feel great. It’s actually addicting. You might say you don’t have much to give. It’s okay. Giving doesn’t always have to be a material things. It could be a simple act of extending your help to a coworker, a friend, or even a stranger.

It is okay to receive as well. But receive with gratitude and appreciation. Not with selfishness or with feeling of entitlement. That’s all for now.

Much love,

Karen

Sleep, sleep, sleep…

IMG_20141110_170600928I don’t know about everybody, but I love to sleep. I love sleeping, especially if I can get enough of it. Sleep to me is very important. To me, it’s my luxury, nutrient, medicine, wealth, etc. It saddens me that I don’t get enough of it sometimes. But whenever I do, I treasure it.

Nowadays, we live in a world where we don’t shut down. We have stores that are open 24/7. We have jobs that sometimes require us to stay awake more than 16 hours a day. Most people only sleeps about 4 to 6 hours, and still be able to function at work. I used to think that’s okay. I used to be that way. I used to be proud of myself for being able to function at work with only 4 hours of sleep. I felt invincible.  And I did it almost everyday. I thought to myself, well that’s how life is here in the United States.

My sleeping habit even got worse especially when I started attending online health summits. There were times when I only get 3 hours of sleep. Everything that I was learning, I started practicing. I stressed about if I don’t practice what I learned. I won’t feel good. I was stressed all the time. Its true that my health did improve tremendously. But something was still missing. Even though I was eating healthy, taking vitamins and supplements, having positive thoughts, I still felt that something was off. Until it came up during the summit. It said that everything I do for health is useless if I don’t get enough sleep.

Hah! Who would have thunk it? That was it. It only made sense. When you sleep, that’s when your body turns into healing mode. When you sleep, that’s when your brain is detoxifying itself. When you get enough sleep, that’s when your skin starts clearing up. That’s when you get mental clarity and eliminate brain fog.

It was challenging for me to change my sleeping habits. First of all, I have all the excuses I could find. I work 12-hour shift. Work place is one-hour away from home. I have a little man that I need to take care of. I have a home that needs to be maintained. Where would I find 4 more extra hours of sleep to get a total of 8? It was very hard because I have a lot of healthy rituals that I do before I get to bed. There were so many things I want to do and I felt like if I sleep I would miss some things and I won’t be productive the next day.

There was one time that I came home from work and I was just exhausted. You know what? That was it for me. After taking care of my son, I just went straight to bed and sleep. I was out. I didn’t even brush my teeth or take a shower. And guess what? I woke up feeling so good I told myself I will do it again and again. Of course, I didn’t get to sleep for 8 hours that night, but 7 hours is way better than 4.

I was actually more productive after that. I was able to think clearly at work. My mood was even better than it was. Surprisingly, I was able to do more things around the house because my mind was so clear that I didn’t go back and forth because I have forgotten something.

My skin cleared up. My mouth sores are less frequent. I used to have canker sores all the time. Literally all the time. But after I incorporated a better sleeping habit and stress free life, I don’t have them anymore. I even forgot about it. My migraine also disappeared. Thank God!

So now, I am a strong believer of sleep. I think we should strive to get enough of it every night. If you can’t get enough sleep at night, then take a power nap on your break. Twenty minutes is very powerful. That’s another thing I do. Sometimes when life does not allow me to get my 8 hours, instead of eating on my lunch break, I would just take a nap. And if it’s sunny, I would take a nap under the sun. Sounds crazy? Well, that’s me. I’m the Health Nut Diva. I do crazy healthy things. I would get a power nap while taking advantage of free vitamin D.

I’m sure that people talk about me when they see me napping at the patio under the sun. I don’t care. They actually see me as someone very healthy and admire me for it. Strangely though, they find it too difficult to do what I do.

Another advantage of taking a power nap while I’m on my break is that I get away even for a few minutes from all the dramas at work. Work drama is everywhere, and there’s lots and lots of it. People love drama. They create it, hate it, but enjoy it. I chose to take a nap instead of participating in it.

It is also important to take note that it’s not just the amount of sleep that you need to get. What counts the most is the quality. Do you wake up fully rested? Or do you wake up sluggish and with an accompanying headache? If you don’t feel rested, then you need to check and see what’s causing it. Do you sleep with some lights on? If you do, turn it off. Silent your phone. PUT IT AWAY. That’s right, put it away. At least 3 feet from your body. Do some research about the dangers of EMF.

Are you worried about something? If you are, do some meditation. Or listen to music. But most of all, PRAY. Praying works. It just does. And just do it.

Much love,

Karen
